As of 10:18 AM Rome time State polls for October have a population weighted average of
Bush 47.57% Kerry 46.37 % Bush-Kerry = 1.2%. On the extreme assumption that the sample size for each poll is only 400, the standard error of the difference Bush - Kerry would be 0.69%.
For each state the most recent poll for each agency were averaged. The National average is calculated weighting by the 2003 population estimate.
