New York Times Copy Editor Fail (This Past January)
I have never seen them miss one like this
"Mr. Sarkozy ... his responsibility as president to be above the law."
Noooooooooooo no one is above the law. That should be "above the fray", "above the court case", "above litigation", "above narrow legal disputes" but not never ever above the law.
Especially don't tell Mr Sarkozy that he should be above the law. Not as risky as telling Bush or (maybe) Berlusconi, but very very dangerous.
Now I don't type so good, but I really don't think I could ever type "responsibility ... to be above the law" by mistake.
