Scuse me while I tell a lie

Armando at the Daily Kos reports that "Rock legend Jimi Hendrix pretended he was gay to get out of the US Army." Now I don't especially blame Mr Hendrix for doing what the President did too, but couldn't he have come up with a more plausible lie ? I mean who has ever been more enthusiastically heterosexual that Jimi Hendrix ?
