NASA and The New York Times gotta watch their language

On the latest Suttle Mission John Schwarz quotes and writes

“We’re confident that there’s no impact for entry,” said Col. Terry W. Virts, Jr., an astronaut serving as the point of contact on the ground for the crew.


I would suggest that Col. Virts might avoid using the word "impact," and that Schwartz should find some way to distract from Virts's unfortunate choice of words without suggesting that the crew will land on him.

That's gotta hurt.
