Brad DeLong publishes his undergraduate thesis on the web.

I ask why he is publishing recent work instead of the really good stuff he wrote in High School.

What about the story you wrote when you were in high school about getting lost in the wilds of your parents' back yard (so realistic that I slipped into referring to it as if it were fact once) ?

That was excellent (although blog readers will be puzzled by the apparently respectful reference to the Washington Post Editorial board which wrote "it is a good thing that a youth can get lost in the woods in the middle of Washington DC" (in the story) and not "Opinions as to whether a youth can get lost in the woods in the middle of Washington DC differ. "

Ars lunga vita breve it's so hard for today's readers to understand the cultural context of the 70's when people wore bell bottoms to discos and Brad DeLong deeply respected the Washington Post.
