Autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura (AITP) is, at least in large part due to antibodies directed against the alphaIIbbeta3 integrin. Such anti-alphaIIbbeta3 autoantibodies could be cleared from the blood by asialo galactosilated solubilized alphaIIbbeta3 integrin or by alpha3-galactosylated solubilized alphaIIbbeta3 integrin. this is a potential theraputic approach to AITP-
